Topic3Setting the Stage for an IT Strategy

This year, U of G Chief Information Officer Dave Whittle began laying the groundwork to begin building a comprehensive, campus-wide IT strategy for the University of Guelph. The main goal of the strategy is to chart a clear path forward to ensure that campus IT is aligned with U of G’s strategic and academic missions. The strategy will improve operational efficiency across the organization, while enabling targeted pockets of creativity and innovation.

The process of building the strategy will be a highly collaborative one, involving significant community engagement, presentations, and discussions. Stakeholders from across campus are encouraged to get involved and have their voices heard, to ensure the strategy is relevant for all. The strategy will have a clear implementation plan, such that the vision is achievable and can be executed in a timely manner.

The strategy kick-off is slated for fall 2019, with engagement and consultation continuing for the greater part of the year.
