Topic7A New Platform for Human Resource Management
Investing in our workforce is a strategic priority for the University of Guelph. Human Resources (HR) aims to do this in a substantial way over the next few years, by replacing their aging HR management system with a new platform that reinforces HR as strategic partner for University units. The current system – acquired more than 20 years ago – has served U of G well from a transactional and process-supporting perspective. However, a new HR management system will enable the ability to implement efficient and effective practices including:
- employee self-serve data;
- recruitment and talent management; and
- trend analysis and reporting.
Replacing our aging and limited system with a modern solution will have broad impact across campus, from system end-users, to departmental and college administrators, to faculty, staff and beyond. We are pleased to partner with CCS on this project and leverage their technical expertise and insight.
– Martha Harley, Associate Vice-President (Human Resources)
The project is under the joint sponsorship of Martha Harley, Associate Vice-President (Human Resources) and Dave Whittle, Associate Vice-President and Chief Information Officer. CCS will be supporting the implementation of this modern and integrated system, which will take place over the next few years and involve many campus partners and significant stakeholder consultation.
