Topic3Accessibility Support for U of G Digital Content Creators
Until now, finding accessibility support on campus when you need it has been challenging. The Digital Accessibility Resource Centre (DARC) intends to fill this gap by providing reliable accessibility help when creating the following types of digital content:
- web content
- PDFs/Word documents
- presentation slides/PowerPoint decks
- video
- audio
- other multimedia.
The DARC staff includes Marinette Fargo, Analyst II, Digital Accessibility, as well as two part-time U of G students. Together, this team offers support in a variety of ways, including in-person and email consultations, regular training sessions on such topics as Word and PDF accessibility, weekly office hours, and the provision of helpful tools and resources for campus users.
CCS is delivering this service on behalf of U of G, with shared goals of fostering a culture of inclusion on campus, and meeting the requirements set out by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
